New Enrollments

The state of Alabama requires families to homeschool through one of three options:

The first option for families is to homeschool through a “Church School” (formerly called a “Cover School”). The Well Academy falls under this category. A church school will contact your local board of education on your behalf and notify them of your intent to homeschool.

The second option would be to homeschool independently as a “private school”. Families may homeschool as a “private school” and must do so by contacting their local superintendant. Each school district may have specific requirements for a family operating as a private school. There are many requirements for this option, including proof of immunizations, an attendance register, and certain classes that must be taught.

The third option for families is to homeschool through a “Private Tutor”. This is the most restrictive option. Among other requirements, private tutors must hold a teaching certificate and teach for a minimum number of hours daily.

We provide many opportunities for families to connect with each other through field trips, workshops, and other special gatherings. Seniors are offered a Graduation ceremony and reception and receive diplomas from The Well Academy. Members receive educational/student/teacher discounts, as well as HSLDA discounts.
